When children are equipped to practice independent reading in their leisure time, the results are expanded vocabularies, enhanced writing skills, and a boost in confidence! However, not every child has access to reading materials at home. Through a partnership with Scholastic, the Broken Arrow Public Schools Foundation is working to bridge this gap.
Read to Succeed is the newest program of the Broken Arrow Public Schools Foundation which gives new, age-appropriate books to every second-grader in the district.
Fundraising for this exciting new program is already underway. Book selections will be made by reading specialists and the books will be distributed to each elementary site during the spring semester.
Read to Succeed qualifies for approval from QuikTrip Grants. We have been a proud recipient for a few years and will continue to strive for encouraging literacy in our community with their support.
In addition to being a sponsor, AVB Bank is partnering to share AVB Savings Certificates with all BAPS 2nd graders.
As well as a collaboration with Broken Arrow Neighbors to offer BAN book fair certificates.
Last but not least, AVB employees are volunteering their time to the Read to Succeed program.
