It is my honor to serve as Broken Arrow Public Schools Foundation’s president, and I am excited to share with you the influence that your support has had on our district’s students, classrooms, and teachers. My passion for our district runs deep, as I have spent years involved on Broken Arrow’s PTA boards and on the BAPS Foundation board. As I transition into the role of president, I look forward to focusing on all of the wonderful things our foundation is doing for our district and community, and to exploring new ways for us to work hand-in-hand with the district.
With the foundation’s mission being to enhance the educational experience of our students, in order to equip them for success in life, we strive to focus in on this distinct purpose in all that we do. Whether this is through providing grants to our teachers, so that they may do more in their classrooms with their students, or by supplying each second grade student four books of their very own to take home in the spring, so that they can combat the “summer slump,” and boost their reading skills before third grade.
Our foundation is only able to continue these wonderful programs because of dedicated supporters like you. And, thanks to you, we have been able to continue these important initiatives, as well as add new initiatives that impact our almost 20,000 students. Of course, we are never finished, and are always working with the district to see how, and where, we can do more.
If you have bought a ticket to our BBQ and Bingo event, played in our annual golf tournament, if you are a teacher who has chosen a payroll deduction to benefit BAPSF, or if you have made a donation on our website, we appreciate and acknowledge you as a supporter who realizes the importance of education. Please know that we value your contribution and are using it to strengthen our Broken Arrow students’ academic encounters. This could include sending every 5th grader to BizTown, a simulated town where students operate banks, manage restaurants, write checks, and vote for mayor; or it could include sponsoring Project Graduation for every graduating senior, so that they have a safe place to celebrate on graduation night.
Thank you for your interest in our foundation, and please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions you may have about our organization. I am always eager to share more about the Broken Arrow Public Schools Foundation, and all of the incredible things that we do for our classrooms, students, and community.
