BAPS FOUNDATION FUNDRAISER BREAKS 100K
BBQ & Bingo raised over $104,000 for Broken Arrow schools
(Broken Arrow) The Broken Arrow Public Schools Foundation’s focus is on raising funds to support the Broken Arrow school district. This June, they raised over $104,000, the highest amount in a single fundraiser since the Foundation’s incorporation, 33 years ago.
BAPS Foundation President, Charla Lane, shares, “I am very proud of the team who worked so hard to raise over $100,000 for our BBQ & Bingo event; we have an incredible group of board members who make up this committee. We are also extremely grateful to our community for their continued support.”
BAPS Foundation’s BBQ & Bingo fundraiser is a casual night out, held at The Property Event Center. Sponsors enjoy an evening to play Bingo, win prizes, and enjoy a Rib Crib dinner and cocktails, all in support of Broken Arrow schools.
“Our 6th annual BBQ & Bingo event reached six digits in funds raised. This is the most BAPS Foundation has ever raised in a single event,” says Amber Edwards, BBQ & Bingo Chairman. “We had a great committee this year, as well as amazing support from the school district, and the Broken Arrow community. All of the donated live auction prizes, raffle prizes, and gift cards helped us exceed our goal of $95,000.”
Another first this year was that this event had the most live auction packages donated to the BAPS Foundation, including an exclusive 2027 Broken Arrow graduation VIP package. A combined total of live auction winning bids, raffle sales, gift card pull, and additional Bingo card sales totaled over $36,000. This is twice the amount of what has been brought in, on the night of the event, in previous years.
Cherokee Nation Business and TTCU Federal Credit Union sat front-and-center as the two Friends of the Foundation sponsors, and will remain so for the 2026-2027 school year. An additional 36 sponsors, and more individual ticket purchasers, were all in attendance, eager to support Broken Arrow Public Schools.
Broken Arrow School Board Member, Dr. Kate Williams, spoke on the partnership between the school district and the Foundation, encouraging community members and school staff alike. After the event, she shared, “My husband and I had a great time at the BAPS Foundation’s annual BBQ and Bingo! A lot of money was raised that will directly benefit Broken Arrow students and teachers. Thanks to everyone from the community who came out!”
