The Broken Arrow Public Schools Foundation surprised teachers with grant money on Friday.

Teachers applied earlier this year for the money to help buy things for their classrooms or to pay for educational opportunities for students.

“It is huge because I took a class last fall with the Oklahoma Art Institute… and this is going to provide the materials for me to incorporate that into the classroom. First time I’ve ever received anything of this magnitude really really excited,” said Denise Harris with Broken Arrow Freshman Academy.

26 teachers across the district received a check for their classrooms. The foundation handed out more than $25,000.
